1A North Central recap November 5, 2013
Yuma extended the longest winning streak in 1A North Central this week by beating Rye, 42-0. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Yuma took down the Thunderbolts 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Roel Cardona ran for 111 yards during the win.
Cardona was a passing and rushing force as Jeremy Slack's team bested Rye.
Jonas Cure was the best wideout in the league this week as Wray fell to Centauri. Cure racked up 6 receptions for 48 yards. Kyler Churchwell helped Wray's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 16 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Nathaniel Ruble and Jacob Baca, Cornerstone Christian Academy has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Ruble is tops in the league in passing with 1,104 yards, while Baca has rushed for 1,737 yards this season. The Eagles' Cure leads the league in receiving yards with 526 on 30 catches.
The Indians made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,646 from 8,195. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 42-0 victory over Jeff Bailey's team last week.
