Grand River Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against the Horizon Science Academy Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Grand River Academy will be strutting in after a victory while the Dragons will be coming in after a defeat.
Grand River Academy stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They put the hurt on Lake Ridge Academy with a sharp 67-45 victory. The victory was just what Grand River Academy needed coming off of a 70-49 loss in their prior match.
Grand River Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Filip Runjo, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Giorgi Nikolaevi, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, Horizon Science Academy was beaten by the Patriots 82-42 on Friday.
Grand River Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Horizon Science Academy, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-11.
Grand River Academy beat the Dragons 58-51 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Does Grand River Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
