Basketball Recap: Meade's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Meade had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took down the South Central Timberwolves 50-31. That's more bragging rights for the Buffaloes, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Several Timberwolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isabel Hackney, who posted five points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists. Hackney is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last eight games she's played. Remi Martin was another key player, putting up seven points and 12 rebounds.

Meade's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.7 points over those games. As for South Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Meade didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-27 defeat against South Gray on the 17th. As for South Central, they have also already played their next contest, a 38-33 victory against Ingalls on the 17th.
