Calhoun (Ga.) captured the lead on a
Taylor Lamb touchdown run with 1:00 left in the fourth quarter to defeat
Carrollton (Ga.) 46-35 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Trey Chivers, the Trojans went into halftime with a 14-6 lead. The Yellowjackets took the lead for good with a touchdown run by Lamb in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring 13 points in the third, Calhoun still trailed by 2 points going into the fourth quarter. But 27 points in the fourth helped the Yellowjackets pull out the victory.
Carrollton's Chivers was the standout player for his team. The junior running back ran for three touchdowns and caught one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to five on the year.
Calhoun's standout player in the win was Lamb. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns and ran for two touchdowns.
The loss comes after Carrollton defeated Chapel Hill 42-12 last week. With the win the Yellowjackets extended their winning streak to three games.
Calhoun (3-0) goes up against Dade County in a AA Region 7 game matchup next week, while Carrollton (1-2) locks horns with Columbus in a AAAA Region 5 game.
