Calvary Chapel Christian Academy easily dispatched McCauley Christian Academy last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Calvary Chapel Christian Academy Archangels fell just short of the Vanguard Christian Knights by a score of 46-43 on Thursday. The Archangels' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Several Archangels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nash Avitia, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Avitia has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Jonathan Macasadia was another key player, putting up 18 points and four steals.
