Widefield entered their tilt with Palmer on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Terrors 11-1. The Gladiators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Liam Gordon made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Widefield let Brody Gizzi and Nick Prantl run wild. Gizzi went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Prantl went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Prantl is becoming a predictor of Widefield's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 8-1 (and 4-6 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Zane Cleaton, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Widefield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Widefield's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Palmer, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.

Widefield will have a chance to go back-to-back against Palmer: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
