The Needham Rockets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Framingham Flyers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Needham stacked a third blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard last Friday. They blew past Weymouth 33-7. The win made it back-to-back wins for Needham.
Tate J Hoffmeister and Aidan Williams were among the main playmakers for Needham as the former rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown and the latter rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. J Hoffmeister hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games.
Meanwhile, Framingham never let their opponents score on Saturday. They blew past Brookline, posting a 42-0 win on the road. Given Framingham's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Brookline is ranked 212th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Their wins bumped Needham to 6-1 and Framingham to 4-3.
Needham beat Framingham 24-14 in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Does Needham have another victory up their sleeve, or will Framingham turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
