Hoosier Heritage recap November 19, 2013
New Palestine extended the longest winning streak in Hoosier Heritage this week by beating Indianapolis Bishop Chatard, 27-14. This was the team's 13th consecutive win.
Pendleton Heights made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,474 from 5,749.
New Palestine's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Blake Luker threw for 130 and 1 touchdown and Tyler Walden had 56 yards receiving. On the ground James Young chipped in 153 yards. Duke Blackwell helped New Palestine's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 33 yards.
Luker put up the best numbers in passing as Kyle Ralph's team topped the Trojans. Luker's favorite target this week was Walden, who caught 5 passes for 56 yards.
On the heels of Riley Neal and Chandler Carroll, Yorktown has had great success on offense. Neal leads the league in passing with 2,751 yards, while Carroll has rushed for 2,529 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is the Dragons' Walden, with 1,162 yards on 79 catches.
DeShaun French has rushed for 924 yards on 163 carries so far this year.
Young broke off the longest rushing play in the league this week with a 72-yard run against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard. Young finished the game with 153 yards on the ground as New Palestine defeated Vince Lorenzano's team.
