The Saint James Trojans will be playing at home against the Opp Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Saint James entered their tilt with Carroll with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Saint James made off with a 49-48 win over Carroll.
K.J. Jackson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 49 yards and four touchdowns, while also throwing for 242 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Clint Houser, who picked up 77 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Opp ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past Ashford 50-48. The win was just what Opp needed coming off of a 47-0 loss in their prior contest.
Opp can attribute much of their success to Jaymaryon Allen, who rushed for 222 yards and two touchdowns, and Nelson Hall, who rushed for 219 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.
Their wins bumped Saint James to 8-2 and Opp to 4-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Saint James has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 178.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Opp struggles in that department as they've been even better at 179.3 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
