The biggest upset of the week belonged to Tarpon Springs, who took down 284th ranked Tarpon Springs, 33-20.
Boca Ciega moved up to 272 from 305 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 6A District 7. The Pirates were able to make move up by topping the Spongers 33-20.
Dixie Hollins's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tyrie Adams threw for 231 and four touchdowns and Marcus Smith had 109 yards receiving. On the ground Dovante Harrington chipped in 37 yards. Drew Boylson helped Dixie Hollins' passing attack out by catching seven balls for 63 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Juwan Brown of Largo is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1115. He has also thrown 14 touchdowns. On the ground, Tarpon Springs' Michael Ford has rushed for 941 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Kenyatta Merriex. The Tarpon Springs star has 35 catches for 450 yards.
Ford of the Ron Hawn's team is only 59 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Lakewood Ranch takes on Osceola. At the moment, the Mustangs are in third, while the Warriors are in second.
There should be lots of points scored when the Spongers and Largo face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Tarpon Springs comes in having scored 219 this season, while Rick Rodriguez's team has scored 268. The Spongers scored 20 points last week as they fell to Boca Ciega.
The Packers extended the longest winning streak in 6A District 7 this week by beating Lakewood Ranch, 38-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for Largo.
