The Sandusky Blue Streaks won the last time they faced the Bellevue Redmen, and things went their way on Thursday too. Sandusky rang in the new year with a 64-53 win over Bellevue.
Jason Henlon was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The matchup was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kobe Brown, who scored 17 points.
Sandusky's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.3 points per game. As for Bellevue, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sandusky will face off against Willard at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Willard is ranked 48th, while Sandusky is ranked 53rd). Bellevue won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Ross at 7:15 p.m. on January 5th.
