Pisgah barely beat Tuscola the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bears were the clear victors by a 35-14 margin over the Mountaineers on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Matthew Mehaffey threw for 44 yards and one touchdown. Mason Putnam was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards and one TD. On the ground, Landon Pope rushed for 283 yards and four scores.

Despite the defeat, Tuscola saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sam Trantham rushed for 92 yards and one score on only 11 carries, and also picked up 39 receiving yards.

Pisgah's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Tuscola, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Pisgah and Tuscola will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Bears see the field they'll take on East Henderson at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th. As for Tuscola, their break will end when they face Brevard at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th.
