The Pineville Rebels will head out on the road to square off against the Natchitoches Central Chiefs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pineville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Pineville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Louisiana's top teams: Jena, who was ranked sixth at the time (Pineville was ranked fourth). The Rebels had just enough and edged out the Giants 1-0 on Monday. The one-run effort marked the Rebels' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The result came thanks to Addalyn Burch's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mallory Edwards was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Natchitoches Central was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They fell just short of Stanley by a score of 2-0. Considering the last time the Chiefs couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.
Sydney Terrell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.
On the hitting side, Lila Robertson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run. Maggie Massia was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Pineville's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 29-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Natchitoches Central, their loss dropped their record down to 12-16.
Pineville's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Rebels have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Natchitoches Central, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Pineville continue to outrun the ball?
Pineville came out on top in a nail-biter against Natchitoches Central when the teams last played back in April of 2023, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
