The Stansbury Stallions can finally bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 53-21 win over Hillcrest. Stansbury's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Stansbury got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Addi Hansen out in front who scored ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Allie Proctor, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Stansbury's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-6. As for Hillcrest, they bumped their record down to 0-10 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Stansbury will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Canyon View at 5:30 p.m. on December 27th. Hillcrest will finish 2023 at home by hosting Duchesne at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Duchesne presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hillcrest in Utah (Duchesne is ranked 43rd, while Hillcrest is ranked 135th).
