Jeffersonville extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Wednesday, dropping them down to 0-2. They lost 13-3 to the Jennings County Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 14-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.
Jeffersonville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenzie Myers, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Joslin Wilson, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
As for Jennings County, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Considering they have won four games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
On Jennings County's side, Ryleigh Sporleder and Arian Day made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Sporleder tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Day pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Sporleder went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Day went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Day has hit this season.
In other batting news, Riley Byford was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025. Maycie Ward was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Jeffersonville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-2 win against Bullitt Central on the 9th. As for Jennings County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 15-1 victory against Bloomington North on the 9th.
