The Osceola Kowboys will take on the East River Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Osceola is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Osceola took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Harmony by a score of 5-2. The Kowboys haven't had any issues with the Longhorns recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Milanys Lopez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Osceola saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yeidy Rosa, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Keyanna Stanley, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, after a string of nine wins, East River's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of St. Cloud by a score of 4-2. The Falcons were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Bulldogs' pitcher proved too tough.
Osceola pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for East River, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.
Osceola's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Kowboys have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for East River, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Osceola continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Osceola's way against East River when the teams last played back in May of 2022, as Osceola made off with a 13-3 victory. Do the Kowboys have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
