Basketball Recap: Archbishop Mcnicholas Falls Despite Big Games from Zack Beerman and Grant Waters

Archbishop McNicholas fought the good fight in their overtime game against Badin on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Badin Rams 55-49. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while the Rams are ranked 132nd).

Archbishop McNicholas' loss came despite strong showings from Grant Waters and Zack Beerman. Waters posted 20 points, while Beerman had eight points and five rebounds. Waters' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Archbishop McNicholas has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Badin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Archbishop McNicholas has already played their next game (against Turpin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Badin will take on Archbishop Alter at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Archbishop Alter's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matches.
