The Jones Longhorns will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chisholm Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jones is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
Jones can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They breezed by Bethel on the road to the tune of 63-7. Given Jones' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Bethel is ranked 179th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Clayton Creasey was a one-man wrecking crew for Jones as he rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 261 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt. Creasey's longest rush was for an incredible 93 yards. Braydon Scott was another key contributor, picking up 78 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Chisholm took a serious blow against Oklahoma Christian on Friday, falling 48-18. It was the first time this season that Chisholm let down their fans at home.
Jones pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.5 points per game. As for Chisholm, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Everything came up roses for Jones against Chisholm in their previous matchup back in November of 2020 as the team secured a 41-8 victory. Will Jones repeat their success, or does Chisholm have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
