El Camino Real will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Granada Hills Charter extended their winning streak to six on Friday. The Highlanders blew past Cleveland 16-2.
Lainey Brown was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Soriano, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Granada Hills Charter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, El Camino Real made sure to put some runs up on the board against Chatsworth on Friday. The Royals put the hurt on the Chancellors with a sharp 17-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Royals in their matchups with the Chancellors: they've now won nine in a row.
El Camino Real let Talya Haim and Senia Gutierrez run wild. Haim went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Gutierrez went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Sarah Delgado, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Granada Hills Charter's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for El Camino Real, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.
Both Granada Hills Charter and El Camino Real just can't seem to miss. The Highlanders have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12 hits per game. However, it's not like El Camino Real struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Granada Hills Charter skirted past El Camino Real 2-1 when the teams last played back in April. Will the Highlanders repeat their success, or do the Royals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
