The Carlisle Indians were the 70-10 winner over the Overton Mustangs when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Carlisle was the victim of a rough 38-14 defeat at the hands of Overton on Friday. Carlisle has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Although Carlisle took the loss, they still got scores from Clayton Hart and Roberto Camacho.
Leading Overton to victory were Bryce Still and Jayden Edwards. Still threw for 334 yards and four touchdowns, while Edwards picked up 243 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Edwards was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 68 yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Carlisle to a paltry 158 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Overton's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out five times before it was all said and done. Carlisle's QB won't forget Kash Fletcer anytime soon given Fletcer sacked him five times.
Carlisle's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Overton, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Carlisle will be playing in front of their home fans against Alto at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alto is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Overton, they will head out on the road to face off against Tenaha at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tenaha is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
