Lathrop has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Pacheco Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Lathrop focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Monday.
Even though Ceres scored an imposing 59 points, Lathrop still came out on top. Lathrop walked away with a 67-59 victory over Ceres.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lathrop to victory, but perhaps none more so than Raymond Carson, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Ellis, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Pacheco's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They took a 65-46 bruising from Beyer. While losing is never fun, Pacheco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1020th, while Beyer is ranked 478th).
Lathrop's win bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Pacheco, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
Lathrop beat Pacheco 56-47 in their previous matchup on January 5th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lathrop since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
