Ballou is 1-9 against Anacostia since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Ballou Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Anacostia Indians at 5:30 p.m.
Ballou's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a rough 69-32 loss at the hands of Douglass.
Meanwhile, Anacostia didn't have too much trouble with Banneker at home on Monday as they won 54-40. The win made it back-to-back wins for Anacostia.
Anacostia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Antaneke Cunningham led the charge by scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cunningham has scored at least 25% of Anacostia's points. Nayjah Duvall was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Ballou bumped their record down to 0-2 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Anacostia, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
