There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. Among the games was a one-point thriller between Cranston East and Barrington.
Can't Touch This
Westerly's 45 - 0 win over Chariho last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Tristan Turano. Turano earned three touchdowns and 218 yards rushing the ball. That performance landed Turano among the top power-ranked players for the week.
No Stoppin 'Em
Barrington and Cranston East went up, up, and away last week as they combined for the highest point total (83) among all power ranked teams. Cranston East won a game that couldn't get any closer, slipping by Barrington 42 - 41. Hopefully the win is satisfying enough on its own since Cranston East actually slipped one place in the power rankings.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
East Greenwich was the better team in every quarter against Coventry last week and consequently the better team overall. East Greenwich blew past Coventry 35 - 6. One star in particular for East Greenwich was junior Conrad Swanson, who finished up with 278 yards passing and one rushing touchdown. With two consecutive wins, East Greenwich boasts the longest winning streak of any team in the rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
