Simeon and Brooks are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Wolverines are taking a road trip to square off against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Simeon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Simeon gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over Solorio. The victory continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Sun Warriors: they've now won three in a row.

Antonio Porterfield spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up six Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Simeon's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 6-8-1 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cavion Danley, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Daniel Jones Jr, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Simeon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Morgan Park hit Brooks with a five-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles lost 10-0 to the Mustangs. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.
Brooks saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jared Ramsey, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Brooks' loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Simeon, their win bumped their record up to 8-9-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Simeon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Brooks struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Simeon suffered a grim 11-4 defeat to Brooks in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Wolverines avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
