Basketball Game Preview: Stuart W. Cramer Storm vs. Kings Mountain Mountaineers

Stuart W. Cramer is 0-10 against Kings Mountain since January of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Stuart W. Cramer Storm are taking a road trip to challenge the Kings Mountain Mountaineers at 7:30 p.m. Stuart W. Cramer is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season.

Stuart W. Cramer is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They took a blow against Ashbrook, falling 79-43. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 461st, while the Greenwave are ranked 43rd).

Despite the defeat, Stuart W. Cramer saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tahj Whitley posted eight points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Whitley has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Dye, who scored four points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Stuart W. Cramer smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Kings Mountain had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Red Raiders 65-63.

Stuart W. Cramer's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Kings Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.

Stuart W. Cramer suffered a grim 70-45 defeat to Kings Mountain in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Stuart W. Cramer was down 38-9.
