Bermudian Springs has gone a perfect 9-0 against York County Tech recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. Bermudian Springs hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Littlestown struck out 13 times.
Fairfield hit York County Tech with a five-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans fell just short of the Knights by a score of 8-6.
Tyler Quickel was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Cody Wagman, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Bermudian Springs' win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for York County Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.
York County Tech's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bermudian Springs has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. It's a different story for York County Tech, though, as they've been averaging 9.8 hits. Given Bermudian Springs' sizable advantage in that area, the Spartans will need to find a way to close that gap.
