The Bronson Eagles will face off against the Saint Francis Catholic Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bronson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
While Bronson's victory against Hawthorne wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Bronson came out on top in a nail-biter against Hawthorne on Monday, sneaking past 4-2. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Zach McClelland was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
McClelland wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was T Petrykowski, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Saint Francis Catholic hadn't done well against Dixie County recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Saint Francis Catholic walked away with a 9-4 victory over Dixie County.
Andy Janelle was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple. Colin Kuruppacherry was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Bronson's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Saint Francis Catholic, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3.
Saint Francis Catholic's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Bronson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Saint Francis Catholic, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Bronson keep running through batters, or will Saint Francis Catholic buck the trend?
