The Stall Warriors were the 57-22 winner over the West Ashley Wildcats when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Stall fell to West Ashley 55-49. Stall has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Despite the loss, Stall still got an impressive performance from Makayla Waiters, who scored 20 points along with six steals and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Williams, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Stall were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Ashley only posted four assists.
Among those leading the charge was Ella Crowe, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Lacy Gerald was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Stall's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7. As for West Ashley, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.
Stall will head out on the road to square off against Fort Dorchester at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Fort Dorchester is ranked 75th, while Stall is ranked 93rd). As for West Ashley, they will be playing at home against Summerville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Summerville is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
