The Independence Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 61-29 loss at the hands of Heritage. While losing is never fun, Independence can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1097th, while Heritage is ranked 343rd).
Heritage's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Madison Ravin, who scored 12 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ravin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Daniya Souter, who scored nine points.
Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Heritage, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-14.
Independence will be playing at home against Walnut Grove at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Heritage, they will head out on the road to challenge Memorial at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
