Baseball Recap: Bishop Leblond Has No Trouble Against East Buchanan

Bishop LeBlond got themselves on the board against East Buchanan on Monday, but East Buchanan never followed suit. They blew past the Bulldogs 8-0. Considering the Eagles have won seven matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Christian Anderson and Jake Winkelbauer did most of the damage at the plate: Anderson went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Winkelbauer got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Winkelbauer has become a key player for Bishop LeBlond: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 9-11 otherwise. Jackson CDeBaca also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Bishop LeBlond's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-12. As for East Buchanan, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop LeBlond will welcome Cameron at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Dragons have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for East Buchanan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stewartsville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
