Brunswick is 10-0 against South Effingham since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Brunswick Pirates will be playing at home against the South Effingham Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Brunswick's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while South Effingham has been banged up by 17 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Even though Richmond Hill scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, Brunswick still came out on top. Brunswick took their matchup against Richmond Hill 68-58. The victory was just what Brunswick needed coming off of a 84-54 loss in their prior game.
Brunswick's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Craig Battle led the charge by scoring 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Butler, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, South Effingham took a serious blow against Lakeside on Saturday, falling 83-44. South Effingham has struggled against Lakeside recently, as their match on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, South Effingham had strong showings from Chase Seyler, who scored ten points along with six rebounds, and Will Harlin, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Brunswick has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-14 record this season. As for South Effingham, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-21.
