Ste. Genevieve took the contest and then some with a 54-17 win last Friday over Fredericktown. Senior Chad Donze, who picked up 132 yards on the ground and accumulated 238 passing yards, was a major factor in Ste. Genevieve's success.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, DeSoto beat Hillsboro 14-8. The success made it back-to-back wins for DeSoto.
Their wins bumped DeSoto to 4-3 and Ste. Genevieve to 5-2. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when DeSoto and Ste. Genevieve clash.
