Independence will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Pine at 7:00 PM. Independence are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the matchup prepared for a fight.
Independence were able to grind out a solid victory over Northlake Christian last Friday, winning 10-3.
Meanwhile, if Pine were riding high off their 36-7 takedown of Springfield two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Pine have to be aching after a bruising 6-38 defeat to Amite. Pine's low-scoring defeat was the unsatisfying follow-up to their high-scoring outing the contest before.
Independence's win lifted them to 1-6 while Pine's loss dropped them down to 3-4. Neither squad could put together much of an offensive attack, so expect every point to count.
