The Camden County Wildcats fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Raines Vikings on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 62-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (57), Camden County still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Camden County had strong showings from Antwann Brown, who shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds, and Kaleb Murray, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Marley Riddle, who scored seven points.
Camden County's defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3. As for Raines, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Camden County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Andrew Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Andrew Jackson will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak. As for Raines, they will be playing at home against ED White at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. ED White will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 549th, while Raines is ranked 73rd).
