The Sonora Wildcats came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Calaveras by a score of 40-31. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Sonora also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sonora to victory, but perhaps none more so than Parker Moore, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Edwards, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Sonora pushed their record up to 12-10 with that win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Calaveras, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-12.
Sonora will head out on the road to challenge Summerville at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Calaveras, they will be playing at home against Bret Harte at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
