The Forest Hills Tigers will challenge the Telstar Rebels at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Forest Hills will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
While Forest Hills' win against Carrabec wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Cobras on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since May 22, 2024.
Meanwhile, Telstar made easy work of Rangeley Lakes on Tuesday and carried off a 15-1 victory. The Rebels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
Bryson Walker made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Telstar's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Brody Walker was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Connor Deprey, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Telstar always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They are 7-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Telstar pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Forest Hills, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Forest Hills suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Telstar in their previous matchup on May 8th. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
