The James River Knights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Radford on the road to the tune of 68-39. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-17.
Caitlin Canada was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. She hasn't dropped below 16 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Honesty Liming, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Radford still got an impressive performance from Claire Fender, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Melody Burks, who scored eight points.
James River has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Radford, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-12.
James River will head out on the road to square off against Carroll County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. James River will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Carroll County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Radford, they will head out on the road to face off against Floyd County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Radford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 314th, while Floyd County is ranked 79th).
