The contest between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Troy Christian falling 59-42. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Troy Christian saw an underclassman step up: Riley Orange scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Orange has scored all season. Karis Miller was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Leading Riverside to victory were Emma Saylor and Reaghan Mcdaniel. Saylor dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Mcdaniel scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Mcdaniel scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Avery Perk, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Troy Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Riverside, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Troy Christian will take on Miami East at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Miami East presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Troy Christian in Ohio (Miami East is ranked 27th, while Troy Christian is ranked 479th). As for Riverside, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lehman Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
