Basketball Recap: North Miami Wins Going Away Against Caston

North Miami posted their biggest win since November 5, 2024 on Saturday. They blew past the Caston Comets 56-35. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 55-46 defeat the last time these two teams met.

North Miami can attribute much of their success to Kayden Donaldson, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Layla Hampton was another key player, putting up ten points and five boards.

North Miami was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Caston only posted five assists.

Despite the loss, Caston still got an impressive performance from Madisyn Douglass, who posted 19 points and six rebounds. That was a full 54.3% of Caston's points, marking the 11th time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Allison Craig, who put up four points.

The victory got North Miami back to even at 6-6. As for Caston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9.

North Miami will head out on the road to square off against Oregon-Davis at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Caston, they will welcome Triton at 7:30 p.m. on January 4th.
