Normal Community gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They claimed a resounding 40-6 win over the Richwoods Knights. The Ironmen haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Nico Salvati threw for 77 yards and one TD. On the ground, Cullen Johnson rushed for 28 yards.

Despite the defeat, Richwoods saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Landon Carroll threw for 134 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 65 yards and one score on only seven carries.
