The Mountain House Mustangs will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the West Wolfpack at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. West took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Mountain House, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Mountain House made easy work of Edison and carried off a 21-1 win. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Mackenzie Coffman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Coffman was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Samantha Ruiz, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Madison Smith was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Mountain House always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Edison only posted an OBP of .316.
Meanwhile, West unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 3-0 to Tokay on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.
West saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jia Camacho, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.
Mountain House was able to grind out a solid win over West when the teams last played back in February of 2025, winning 4-0. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolfpack turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
