The Highland Trojans had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against River Forest on Friday as Highland made off with a 52-27 win. 52 seems to be a good number for Highland as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Highland was led to victory by Aaliyah Keil and Jordan Steele. Keil almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds, while Steele scored 26 points along with two steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Steele has scored at least a third of Highland's points.
Highland is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for River Forest, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-15.
Highland won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Hanover Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. River Forest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
