Baseball Recap: Ida B. Wells Gets the Win

Ida B. Wells made up a huge gap compared to their last game against North Medford, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Ida B. Wells put the hurt on North Medford with a sharp 11-3 victory on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Guardians needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Elliot Benjamin looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ramsey Prentice and Andrew Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Prentice scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Smith scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Smith also put up two hits, which were his first of the season. Cody Roletto was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
