Potomac Senior walked away with a 62-50 victory over Gar-Field on Friday. Given Potomac Senior's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Gar-Field is ranked 186th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Potomac Senior's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenny DeGuzman, who scored 13 points along with five assists. Ryden Rodney-Sandy was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Potomac Senior has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season. As for Gar-Field, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
Potomac Senior does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gar-Field, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodbridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodbridge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 177 points over their last three contests.
