This season hasn't been kind to the Spring Hill Raiders, who are still winless after their fifth match. They were beaten by Summertown 81-46 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Spring Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while Summertown is ranked 122nd).
Kurt Burleson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds for Summertown. That makes it five consecutive games in which Burleson has scored at least 25% of Summertown's points. Another player making a difference was Cason Blackwood, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds.
Spring Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Summertown, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spring Hill will take on Marshall County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Marshall County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Spring Hill likes a good challenge. As for Summertown, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Moore County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
