Elko proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 23) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged the Owyhee Braves out 62-59. The Indians' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Owyhee lost, don't look at Micah Phoenix. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 13 on his way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rolando Espitia, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 13 points.

Elko has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Owyhee, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
