After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Mesquite, the West Mesquite Wranglers were happy to have found some success on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Conrad a 6-0 shutout. The high-scoring effort was just what West Mesquite needed considering they were shutout in their previous match.
They hit Conrad with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Mia Mancilla (2),
Emma Ramos (2),
Ashley Hernandez, and
Ariana Pina.
West Mesquite's victory bumped their record up to 5-6-2. As for Conrad, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.
West Mesquite will be playing in front of their home fans against Adams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Adamspresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Mesquite in Texas (Adams is ranked 230th, while West Mesquite is ranked 481st). As for Conrad, they will head out on the road to square off against Seagoville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Conrad's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
