North Harrison hasn't had much luck against Brownstown Central recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Braves at 5:30 p.m. North Harrison is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
On Wednesday, North Harrison got the win against Austin by a conclusive 12-1. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by nine runs or more this season.
Kendall Christie and Bayley Myrick made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Christie didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Myrick pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Christie has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. At bat, Christie went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Myrick went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Myrick has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, North Harrison got a massive performance out of Kendal Maher, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave Maher a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gabby White, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
North Harrison kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Brownstown Central's offense. They came up short against Silver Creek on Tuesday, falling 12-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Braves in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost seven in a row.
Shyla Steele was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits.
North Harrison pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Brownstown Central, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.
Brownstown Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. North Harrison has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Brownstown Central, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will North Harrison keep running through batters, or will the Braves buck the trend?
