The Texhoma Red Devils are still undefeated this season after their matchup against the Turpin Cardinals on Tuesday, but the Turpin Cardinals came as close as anyone has to beating them. Texhoma skirted past Turpin 64-62. Given Texhoma's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Turpin is ranked 46th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Turpin lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bryson Parker. Despite the final result, he scored 32 points. The matchup was Parker's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Carson Peters was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Texhoma's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Turpin, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Texhoma will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Laverne at 8:00 p.m. on December 15th. Turpin will be home for the holidays to greet Shattuck at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Shattuck has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 205 points over their last three matches.
