The Westville Tigers will challenge the Tri-Valley Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Westville sitting on four straight wins and Tri-Valley on three.
Westville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over Urbana on Tuesday. Considering Westville has won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Lilly Kiesel made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three doubles, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Westville let Laney Cook and Daylin Zaayer run wild. Cook went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Zaayer went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave Zaayer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lani Gondzur, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.
Westville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .704. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Tri-Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Delavan on Monday, taking the game 9-5.
Elle Fesler was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Maren Milton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI.
Westville's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Tri-Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0-1.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Westville has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .535. However, it's not like Tri-Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .432. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
